Default koni recommended perch setting help

Hi all, I was planning on buy koni yellows for my ap1, so far i have swift spec rs and a whiteline fsb. since i am on stock 16s the gap between the tires and fenders are still unsightly to me. the springs already give a 1.25 inch drop and if i were to put it on the lower perch, it probably would come out to 1.75 drop total. would this be too much drop for my spring rates (7.5K,7K)? would this degrade performance enough to not be worth putting it on the lower perch for should i not worry about it? anyone with experience? also i hear that konis compression is softer than oems, is this true? However is the high speed compression harder than oem? There are somepeople who say its harder and some that says it not so i dont i have a clear answer.

The S2000 seems to handle on the track the best with about 1 inch of drop so I'd stick with the 1.25 drop and not go lower.

What kind of competition / racing do you plan on doing?

iam getting into solo events, i dont really see myself going to a full ut road course anytime soon. I was just worried about bottoming out. Ive read somewhere that the max lowering on these shocks are like 35mm which is abot 1.4 inches. my swifts are about 1.25 already. i just wanna get lower.

im start to feel regret that i had not gone with a full coilover setup with higher springs rates. do you guys think that a 255 square setup with rs3 is too much grip for ots yellows with swift spec r springs?

For a straight up track/autox car, I would say you should have gone a coilovers route with stiffer springs and more adjustability. If you are still planning to drive the car on the streets/daily it and don't plan on getting too hardcore with the autox/track stuff, then I would say a Koni/swift setup will serve you fine. I am actually about to have the same exact setup. My car is a sunny day cruiser and a weekend local autox toy, nothing serious, all for fun. I may hit two track events this year and about twelve autox events, but nothing more. I feel the Koni/swift will work fine for me.

If you care about your car's handling you won't go lower than 1.25 inches, even with coil overs.

You're going to look like a hard parker and your car will handle like poo poo.

Do a little searching. Basically, Honda engineers aren't dummies. You can't just "drop it like it's hot" and expect the suspension geometry to work properly.
