I have tried about every way of tricking the CDV. I hate it and think it should never have been put in an S2000. They should have made the diff much better instead. For this year, I replaced the oem cluch fluid with a recommendation from my mechanic. As for launching with 275/40/17 v710s on the back, I do a three rev count by punching the throttle and getting the revs into vtec range and then I just let the clutch out from the floor on the third rev. At the Dixie Tour event last weekend, the clutch only slipped one time on me so I let it bog and let it start off slow. The count doesn't matter, it's just what I picked. Most the time it grabs. If I bounce the rev limiter and dump the clutch, it seems to slip often. Side stepping the clutch is even worse. If the clutch slips, I can't get it to grab for the rest of the run and have to deal with the smell. Just another one of those differences from the AP1. I wonder if the CR is the same way?

$20 bucks it's your CDV. I launch our AP1 around 6000 with a sidestep clutch drop on RE-01R's and never smell clutch.

If you want to launch the car, you might as well go drag racing...

^^I agree. I used to get clobbered by a more experienced AP1 driver. Once I started reving my AP1 to 6-7K and dumping the clutch, it narrowed the gap significantly.
