Lightweight pulleys...

They were the pulleys I bought off of EMC2. I notified him when the first one went....can't remember which pulley it was, but one day I noticed all kinds of powder all over my engine bay. Turned out to be that the bearing loosened up a bit from the pulley it was pressed into and the pulley was grinding up against whatever it was mounted to.
Then recently Asura and I discovered that the idler pulley was basically doing the same thing. Now I need a stock idler pulley washer so I can put my stock one back on. Anyone got one?

OK, that makes sence. The initial design from EMC2, had a few minor design flaws. First the tentioner pulley was cut in such a way that it only installed backwards. That is will the bearing seat facing the front of the car. So if the bearing loosened up, it could walk off the motor. Second, his initial run had percision bearing and not high speed sealed bearing. That meant the as the bearing ran, it overheated and then it could fail.

throw in proautosports lightweight crank pulley, and you will notice an increase in throttle response, but not as drastic as a lightweight flywheel.
Our crank pulley is a harmonic balancer, changing it is like strapping a time bomb to your motor.

...Most inline engines do not need a harmonic balancer...and the S2000 crank is supported by 5 bearings, on top of being forged...
