Modifry Redline Shift Beeper
My Modifry Redline Shift Beeper is coming this week and I'm hoping to get your input before I install it.
1. What settings do you recommend for an AP2? I searched and just found AP1 settings.
2. Where should I locate the speaker such that it's a nice audible balance between helmet and no-helmet driving? I race top-up and have OEM exhaust.
Thanks!

1. Off hand it think it's something like 300 interval so that puts the beeps at like 7200 7500 7800 if you want to shift at 8100. 300 interval makes the 2-3 shift fast, the 3-4 shift rignt on and the 4-5 shift a little slow, but overal I like it.
2. I put mine in the passenger footwell just below where a normal glove box would be, on a black metal box or whatever it is. I can just almost see it from the driver's seat. I never have an issue hearing it.

1. You'll have to decide yourself. I am quite happy with 7300, 7500, 7700, and staying on at 7900. Where you put it doesn't matter at all for first gear, you go through it so quickly in autocross, and you're never in 1st on the track. For second, only the first beep matters, since you again are going through it so fast, you barely have time to shift if you wait for the beep. After that, my interval works for me for our tracks around here.
2. Same as Robinson.

That corresponds to the steady tone coming on with the rev limiter. Works for me.
It's so that the annoying tone that I never want to hear comes on at the same time as the annoying loss of power that I never want to experience. It also lines up the beeps into a rhythm so that the fuel cut comes exactly on the "beat" and I can time my shift based on that.

I have discussed the legality with some people. The rules say that you are allowed to add gauges and indicators, giving a shift light as an example. I think that the beeper is essentially equivalent to a shift light.
