jguerdat - Your cracking looks very similar to what I observed on my old bar. The tube through the inner bar was cracked loose in each of the 3 holes that I used. I have the new design now, and its performs very well. Please contact Comptech and give them a chance to make this right for you.

Thanks for the info. I've contacted them via email and will use voice if I don't hear something from them. It's good to know about the actual mechanism of other failures...

I hate to point out the obvious here, but Comptech should have gotten this right the first time. This is a poorly engineered and overpriced piece. They should be ashamed for ever putting it on the market... maybe it's because I'm tired (just got home from Florida) and defeated (coned my way out of a National Tour win) but I just don't see why people keep going back to the well on this bar.

I finally drove on this bar (thanks Josh!) this past weekend, and can say with authority that even on it's stiffest position it's not enough bar. I'm sorry to say it, but if you have this bar I'd ask for your money back before asking for a new swaybar that will eventually suffer the same fate, and isn't even stiff enough to begin with.

Sorry, but for $750 and with Comptech's engineering abilities, they shouldn't be given a chance to 'make this right.'

Just my tired and salty .02c worth.

Point taken on the worn out tires for practice, Josh... I know all about it, unfortunately!

Welp, no contact with Comptech so far. Guess I'll have to call them. Did you use email at all or voice - which worked best? Anyone in particular I ought to talk to?

When I needed advice on adjusting the bar I also got no response to my email, but they were very courteous and helpful on the phone. I can't recall who I spoke with.

All of my contacts with Comptech have been by phone (916) 933-1080. They have been very helpful to me too - I believe that I spoke with Joe regarding the swaybar. They will probably want to see the bar, and what I arranged was to pay for a new bar on a credit card and have the charges reimbursed when they recieved the old bar back. I paid for one way shipping of my old bar to them, about $15. I was completely satisfied with this arrangement.

Look, Mr. Richard Head...

The rust I see on the bar doesn't seem to have much to do with the salt from the roads. The bar was almost as clean as the pictures when I pulled it out. It's above the splash shield and not driven when someone could spray the front down with salt slurry. I'm pretty confident that it's not a Rust Belt issue.

But, then again, I get to drive my car whilst you complain about how long it's taking for spring to even think about showing up.
