You may want to reread the NASA Time Trial rules while you're doing your buildup. TTC max tire width is 255, not 245.

Best of luck with your build!
The S2000's base class is TTD, so you have to go by what the *base class* is, not what class you end up in. So 245 is the max width before taking any points.

Yes, great post, I am considering some NASA events this year so its nice to see what I can/can't do if I run TTC.

Did you go with the KSport PRO's?

I suppose you or the previous owner replaced all of the bumpers/lights with AP2 stuff, but your exhaust and wheels were AP1?
I went with the standard off the shelf Kontrol Pro coilover and changed spring rates. They don't have a GT Pro for the S2000, but they have another version that can be ordered/valved specifically for whatever spring rates, body length etc.. I figured I'll just run this first and change from there if needed.

The previous owner replaced the bumpers, wheels, exhaust tips and the radio cover with AP2 stuff.

The stock exhaust weighs about 54 lbs.

Over torque your alignment bolts. The spec torque values will move for sure. I go to 100 ft-lb to avoid movement.

The rear camber values achieved are typical for max, but how did you get -2.7 up front? Is that because of ride hight? With stock ride height the max neg camber is a typically less than 2.

I would like to know why you are running a 17" wheel? A stock 16" is lighter and has less rotational mass, should that not be helpful specially since your tire width is 245?

I stand corrected. I thought the cars were free to run the tire size of whatever class they landed in.

I saw this car go off at the corkscrew at RLTA.

A 245/40R17 is available from just about every manufacturer, plus I can run 255s and even 275s on a 17x9. And 17s look better, which is important!

Here it is after it blew up, right after the corkscrew off near the sand trap. That's me posing there on the wall.

I have a picture just like that. I also have a picture of what looks like the fog rolling in...
It was interesting to watch the high hp cars drive off line in to Andretti to avoid the slick.

From what I heard, it seemed like the you got the right front wheel in the gravel and then over-revved sending a rod out the side of the block.

I hear the over-revving theory a lot. That's not what happened. The car has a rev-limiter, it's not going to over-rev unless i go from 3rd to 2nd (instead of 4th) or similar. The car made it through the corkscrew fine, it blew up when I got back on the gas exiting the corner.

If you listen closely in the video, between turns 5-6 when I lifted for the sound booth, you can hear it dentonating *really* bad. I couldn't hear it when I was driving, but in the video it's clear as day. It sounds like I'm running over gravel, or rocks are bouncing off the bottom of the car. It was dentonating really bad and blew up because of that.

I'm not sure why it was dentonating.. I ran at Buttonwillow two days earlier and it was fine. The guy who tuned it says it might have been due to the silencer I put in the exhaust, causing the boost on the supercharger to increase.. I don't know if I believe that. He also mentioned the weather conditions at Laguna (cold, humid) are much different than Arizona and it wasn't tuned right. Crappy fuel.. who knows. The new engine is almost finished.
