NC Miata Bar Install

NC Miata Bar Install
I've heard people using spacers, and collars from McMastercarr when installing the Miata bar.
How big are the spacers, and what parts are you using from McMastercarr? I don't want to tear up the rear diff mount with the bar.

I haven't read about spacers but in the Str sway bar thread someone elongated the d brackets holes to move it under the diff mounts.
Edit: found it on random 1's page. Hope he doesn't mind: http://random1photo.zenfolio.com/p234688646

Steve,
You can use the standard collars that came with the car and slide them over to fit. I didnt use stock miata u clamps, i ordered urethane ones from jegs or summit with zerk fittings. Then i fabbed some quarter inch rectangular pieces to move the bar outwards away from the diff mounts(similar to what saner does on the frt bar. No clearance issues now. Lastly i actually pressed and drilled 1 additional hole in mine to make it more adjustable

Thanks Sacha. After seeing pictures of the front wheel off the ground at Dixie, it's time to throw a rear bar back on the car. I'm hoping a few other changes will help balance the car out again, most of which is adding rear toe to the car.
How thick was the spacer you used? The bar should be sitting on my front porch waiting for me to get home. I'm going to bolt it up and take a look at clearances and judge from there. I really don't feel like tearing up the rear diff mount.

I know the bar is coming with bushings, but no brackets. I'm hoping the s2000 brackets slotted a bit will allow for enough clearance. Luckily the bar is small and will fit over my exhaust!

I did the same as Random1 - used the miata bushings and just slotted the holes a tiny amount, maybe 1/8". It's good.

Also, I forgot to mention that I just hammered the miata collars over, again similar to what Rob (Random1) did and it seems good so far, I don't really see a need for separate locating collars.

The reason I wanted to try more rear bar, It seems to work according to my pictures from the last event. I would like to think keeping the wheels on the ground adds to overall grip but I see tons of cars lifting the inside wheel and they seem to be ok with it so I don't really know.
