Default Need coil pack urgently

Hi,

I am writing this on behalf of Dennis (S2ki name: nobody).

At the NCRC race today at Buttonwillow, nobody took part in the ARC race and qualified 5th in a field of supercharged vipers, Radicals and other menacing race cars. He was doing well in the first few laps of the race but unfortunately, there were some problems with the spark plugs (I think), leading to one of the coil packs being damaged.

The predicament: One of Dennis' S2000 coil pack is damaged and he needs a replacement. Without the coil pack, the car is not drivable and we have checked that the coil pack (pre 2006 S2000 version) is not in stock in any honda dealership in california.

Unless he can find a replacement part soon, Dennis will miss the final race tomorrow and be stuck at buttonwillow until Tuesday! (That's the earliest possible date when honda can get a replacement coil pack) The temperature today at buttonwillow was 100F !

I am appealing to anyone who might have a spare coil pack OR who might be passing by buttonwillow (Buttonwillow is on I-5 about half way between LA and SF) on sunday to help a fellow racer.

Please PM me for Dennis' contact info, if you might be able to help. Thanks very much!

I have the coil packs lots of them for some reason too. I can't take it to BW. If he or someone wants to come to santa cruz you're welcome to it.

Dennis should have my cell #.

I should be able to pick it up from Rylan and pass it to anyone in the bay area if they can bring it to Dennis today.

Though I'm meticulous w/the torque wrench, this is the second time I've had a plug back out on a Honda. First time was on a Civic--street driving, no issues w/making it right again. But for the S2000 under full race conditions w/boost I wasn't so lucky. Plug shot out w/enough force to crack the coil and dent the bracing under the hood, then it charred itself while I coasted to an access road on the track.

I know I'll need a new head....and a good mechanic. Beyond that I'm not sure what the damage is. I'm thinking a plane ticket for Asura from NY may have to be factored into my fix here ...
