Default Need help with build

Well I am some what new to the racing seen. I am eager to get started in some time trials/time attacks. I live in chicago and just want to make the car legal for local events (midwest that is). I do not have a trailer so I will not be able to travel too far.

Well I'm asking for help in learning some rules as to how far I can go with the car and stay in street class. Also help me with parts to put together a well rounded competitive car. I will also be going to some auto x's. Here are some parts that I have come up with:

-RPF1's 17x9 +45 with 255s all around
-Either KW V3s or club sports (don't know about legality in time attacks)
-basic I/H/E
-harddog bar
-harnesses
-j's type 1 wing
-hardtop
-gutted interior
-a rear diffuser
-maybe some gears (4.44/4.56)

Lets hear a full build that some of you guys would go with or have...

Thanks,
Martin

You should contact your local (he's in the Chicago area) S2000 Time Attack specialist, Greg @ GT Motoring.

Yeah I guess I just need to have the door panels and center counsel in. As long as everything works out I should have Gregs pulled front fenders and wheels on my car. Can't wait...my first step in the build. Now all I have to do is part my turbo set up.

i would invest into a bucket seat though to go with that harness and to keep your rear planted. if you're relatively new to the track you can get away with the street/track pads like the hawk hp+ or our sf-t pad. get some good fluid (we use ssbc) and some tires and you'll be set.

gt wing will help, i would add a front splitter of some sort as well to complement it. i'd do the exhaust for weight savings, but everything else you listed is not needed imo. i always liked the philosophy of outgrowing what you currently have before moving on.

Thanks for all the advice so far guys keep it coming.

Silverj I'm thinking of picking up a recaro spg that is for sale locally. Anybody know a fair price for a used one?...also could you use a buddy club rail with it?

V3 vs. clubsports are there big advantages to the club sports?

buddy club rails will work with all the well known bucket seats. i've got one mated to my bride and overall it really drops the seat to the ground. my only gripe is that one of the sliders seems to have decided to retire, so i really have to push hard to get it to move. luckily that's really not a big deal since you shouldn't have to move your seat back and forth too much once you find your ideal position.

If you plan on competing in Redline, knowing what class you want to run would tell you what to choose for mods. If you are new, you probably don't want to be running mods that put you in the Modified class:

As far as mods, all you really "need" from your list for now is suspension, seats, hardtop (if you plan on removing the soft-top), wheels and tires.

The stock intake works fine, as does the stock header. Maybe switch to a single for weight savings. Focus most on upgrading the fluid and pads, tires, and seat time.

I looked at the redline rules and would stay in street class. Main problem is that I am looking for events close to me in the midwest.
