Need help, shock spring question. STR S2000 AP1
I spent some time looking at shock adjusting tips and realized that I do not think I have a shock or ride height/spring perch problem. I think what I have is a front camber issue. I did not have the car aligned because I am trying to get front camber joints but they are on back order. Shocks can not change a car as drastic as these have on their own. I went from a lose back end and lots of lift throttle oversteer to slight push and no lift oversteer. I have been through a bunch of changes and nothing can get the push out. My guess is even though I compressed the spring (put a jack under the suspension and laoded it )before tightening up my front a arms, I lost front camber. With running 2.4 in the rear and more than likely less than 2 now in the front I have created push.
I guess I will pay for two alignments, What do you guys think?
Thanks

From the OP:
Ok, so I have recently changed shocks to TC Klines from Koni Yellows. I am using the same springs that were on the Yellow setup. They are 550F and 500R. That said I put my ride height at all 4 wheels the exact same as it was before. The only other change I made is that I cut the rear bump stops 1/4" more than the previous setup. I used my same OEM top hats.
My issue is that I went on a test drive and on a low speed right hander (1st gear flat footed) the car pitched (bounced real bad) when I hit a dip/bump.

What else changed that would require an alignment change? New shocks with the same ride height shouldn't require an alignment.
I was able to get 2.5 out of the front without camber joints. The way we did that was by freeing up the front a arms on the alignment rack. My guess is once I took the a arms off to pull the shocks I lost negative camber? I could be wrong but not sure what else it could be. It looks like the megan camber joints will be in stock in another 3 or 4 weeks. I will leave the car alone till then I guess. Then install the joints, balance the car again, and get it aligned.
After that it can only be the shocks.

Please let us know what your starting numbers are when you corner balance your car. I really think you'll be shocked how far off your corner weights are and it's most likely the reason your new shocks with your old springs seem to be causing handling problems.
Here is a link for my last event. You can see the car is stable. It is just a bit pushy and I had a hard time not having lift throttle oversteer. The last turn before the finish I would use the LTOS to point the car but she just pushed so I went to first. Let me know what you think.

Somewhat random note, but do you run with a guy named Andrew or something (amaff is his online moniker) who runs a DP Miata?
I know him through my old Mazda forums and that autocross site looks extremely familiar despite the fact I've only been in Georgia once
