Need input on suspension for next season
I'm building up a wrecked silverstone MY2000 as a track car for next season. I suspect it will get mostly autocrosses next year with several track days after it's seen some 'breakin'. I currently have the KW v3's on my blue car, which will be relegated to street duty only, and I just picked up a set of used Ground Controls with koni yellows. Spring rates on the GC's are 550F and 450R. My gut feeling says to pull the KW's off of the blue car and stick them on the track car, but I'm lazy. If I put the GC's on the track car, I'd likely send the shocks off for re-valving in a year and up the spring rates if necessary. Anything I'm missing one way or the other that should sway my decision?
I had koni yellows with GC coilovers on a CRX at one time. I think they are good on the street but not really designed for the track.
A buddy of mine has them on his VW race car and they blew out half way through the season....they were also re-valved before he put them on for a higher spring rate...
I went with the KW comp's and they have worked fine no leaks and 1 season on them from me. I did buy them used....

There is a set of JRZ single adjustables FS in the FS forum. I think he wants 1500 shipped for them. The springs he has on them, IIRC, were 500/500. From what I understand, you can get them converted to triple adjustables for a few $$$ when you want them.
Just a thought.

Bryan...I had the Koni Yellows and they are too soft in compression for rapid transitions like slaloms. Steady state they are ok.
I'd really suggest having them revalved first with their autox valving for the s2k. You'll really notice the difference between the KWs and Konis otherwise.

KW's are overkill for the street only car IMO, put them on your track car get higher spring rates like 12kg and 14kg or 18kg all around for slicks and enjoy, I've read KW's are not really a full track coilover, but I think they should do just fine unless you do all out competition. I've heard good things about Koni's but I dont know about tracking with them.
