If the OP's measurement is accurate, that means we're losing half our stiffness in the bushings. Yikes. This effect would be reduced as the bar twists though. The bushing can only be compressed so much, so at a certain point the true stiffness of the bar would take over.
Maybe Guy can chime in to say how much weight he used and how far the deflection was to determine the bar 'stiffness' but I recall him telling me the 'theoretical' stiffness was significantly higher than what was measured. Basically, if you make the bar stiff enough, which a 1.5" bar can do, all the other little things you consided 'plenty stiff' now start to contribute. Either way, on his jig it was around 25% stiffer than the gendron bar he compared it to, fwiw

How in the hell are your getting these to fit on stock ap1 wheels???
ummm.. pretty easily? Cash only non-english speaking tire shop that did it for $5 a wheel and didn't complain.

seriously, I've seen a few of the 275/35/15s on 15x6 wheels. It looks a little funny. And with the bigger bar I'm tempted to see what happens if I try to squeeze a 275 on the front.

What is the weight?
I didn't weigh it, but I do know I'd win most bar fights if I had it with me. It's about as light as a 1.5"x.375" steel bar can be.

Are the end plates steel as well? Have you considered roller bearings to replace the rubber bushings?

that would be pretty hard to assemble with fixed endplates

Split case delrin bushings have crossed my mind, but let me get some competition time on the bar before I decide if I want to make it stiffer. Heck, a little bushing compliance probably makes it drive around town a lot nicer, but throw it into a corner and it should eat up most of that compliance pretty quick.

I haven't tried it on the fronts yet (but I'm thinking about it). I currently have 245s on the front 275s on the rear

I can probably dig up a picture of teh 275/15 on a 6" rim somewhere though...

Big Tires are not always better.... I remember reading an article once where they were testing different R comp brands against one another.. Anyway, they couldn't get A 2775 Kumho V710 to fit on the Rx8 wheel so they just put 245's on the wheels. Anyway, they did skid pad tests on both the hoosier A6's and the Kumhos.. and Hoosiers pulled like .02 G's better.

Then, they took the cars out to the course. Normally Hoosiers would be faster...but The 245 Kumhos set the best time...but like 4 tenths on the same car!

Ultimately, the 245 Kumhos were just way more responsive than the hoosier 275's.
