Default next step after Heel toe?

What should I be learning after I've gotten heel and toe, and rev matching down pretty well?

Right now I'm going on mountain roads daily on my way to community college so its great practice (even though I dont speed or do anything stupid it seems to help out).

Any tips?

Racing school, where you can safely practice trailbraking.

some track time wouldn't hurt either if you haven't done it. There's a big difference between heel-toe in a canyon and at the limit on a real race track.

Track time or a good autocross for things like
- threshold breaking
- trailing throttle oversteer
- skidpad work to learn the delicate balance between over and understeer
- slalom and accident avoidance skills
- proper seating position, it is amazing how many don't get this one...

You should combine your newfound heel-toe skills with threshold braking. This is next most logical step.

BTW - Left foot braking has been excluded from all the suggestions so far. Woosies!

OMG you guys are so l33t! How many buzz words can you name?

What you need to learn is how to get to the track. You haven't said what you want want to learn so I can't really tell you what the next step is. You could learn how to get me coffee first thing in the morning on track days

BTW brainiacs our cars have ABS last time I checked. Threshold braking is kinda computer controlled don't ya think? What's there to learn? Stomp the pedal and let ABS worry about not locking up.

An interesting thing that the Evolution school instructors point out is that most ABS brakes at ~.8Gs with some allowing more like .9Gs. The question is, what can you do if you modulate just before ABS onset? It seems to me that you get essentially the same numbers but is that really true? I know I tried ABS as well as pulling the fuse on the ABS on my '90 Integra GS and was within the noise (.25 sec.) on autocross runs. Is there a benefit to threshold braking even with ABS? Damned if I can see it but maybe I'm blind...
