Nitto NT-05's ordered!
Boys (and girl, apparently),
I ordered up a set of Nitto NT-05's because it's that time of the year again! I should have them mounted up within a week and will be going out to Miller a couple weeks after that with the Porsche Club. I will post up a review shortly thereafter.
I do have one question. I am running 17x7.5" rims in front and the Nitto website does not have a 7.5" wide rim as "approved" to run their 17x235x40 tire. Unfortunately, they don't make a 225 series tire. They recommend an 8 inch wide wheel for this setup.
Is it safe to run this tire up front? I don't want anything funny happening when I'm bookin' down the front straight at 140.

Yea it's probably ok, but the sidewalls aren't going to be as stiff as if you had sizes that are more appropriate for rim width. Turn in might suffer compared to properl sizes as well.
Can some of you more experienced guys recommend whether you think I should switch brands due to the sizing issue?
Thanks,

RE01r > Star Spec > NT05.
These tires are not what the initial reviews made them out to be, but they aren't horrible. I regret not getting the Star Specs.
Car clocked 2:07 at BW, no aero, KWv3 coilovers and 25 NT05 all around. End of the day with some traffic. They're definetely "good" but they don't provide the feedback the other tires do. For the extra 20-30 dollars if I could do it again, I would grab a set of star specs. That's just me.
I still can't get over how they rob you of so much tread with that strip in the middle.

^ The RE-11 will be the best street tire available. I am sure there won't be any arguing that. They will last longer than the R1R and provide constant grip for longer. I would be interested in grabbing a set, however my wallet is not interested in that at all.
Well...I ordered them up. Unfortunately, UPS appears to have lost one of my tires so I won't know how the fit on my front wheels until I get that last one. How do you lose a single tire? I mean, no one steals it!
Anyway, sorry to hear that review...I was hoping they would be a game changer.
I'll post up when I finally get them mounted...after UPS gets me my last tire!
