Who would be interested in an all wingless/non-aero S2000 shootout? My vote would be Buttonwillow. I saw Speedventures has a non S2KC event there on Sept. 24 so it wouldn't interfere with the competition.

I was thinking 3 basic classes. Stock, Street(coilovers, non-stag etc...), and Modified (r-comps).

OEM non CR aero allowed in all classes.

Stock Class: no shock or spring upgrades, street tires only. 235/255 stagger max.

Street Class: any shock/spring or coilover, street tires only.

Modified Class: any shock/spring or coilover, R-compound tires.

Would any of the aero guys be willing to pull their aero off for a day?

With your CR aero removed? I would consider a non-aero CR (lip and Wing removed) in the street class with having upgraded shocks and springs.

I don't think so David. In the hot part of the day (i believe) you ran a 2:07.7 w/passenger. I believe i ran a 2:07.2 around that time w/out a passenger. My fast time of 2:06.3 was in the 2nd session. I think it could be pretty close.

If you ran with the stock s2k's then they'll all be saying, "well he has CR suspension"... At least that's what I'd say! Haha!

I swear it's the aero! It makes me confident that I can just press the gas without flying away! But really, 2:06 with just non-stag wheels/tires and suspension is really fast actually. On top of that, your ride looks slammed so when you passed me, it looked like some super cool racecar that just flew past me. I thought that was pretty cool.

 

Am I the only one that finds it odd that this is being organized by the guy who's set up to run without aero?
