What does a TTB/TTC s2000 run there?
Track record in TTB is held by an S2000 @ 1:59.889
Sorry, that is 13CCW. TTB record is 1:58.87 in an E36 M3

Excellent driving and time anyway. I'm waiting for ringer to break 2 minutes in a STREET class S2k. I think he can do it if he ditches the GTC-200, gets a CR-wing and some 17x10 wheels and a testpipe.
Haven't people already done sub 2 minutes in street class S2000s? Or has that always been on R-compounds?

I think he is referring to someone specific.

Laguna needs a rear wing less than all the other major tracks in California.

Weather this morning was perfect for the first session. He wasn't able to replicate the time later in the day but he definitely drove like a madman in the morning.

He should be able to do it with his car completely AS-IS if the weather permits. His 201 back in the summer weather is easily going to benefit from weather.

I used to think weather was not as big a deal but I'm beginning to understand there is a full 1-3 if not more second swing from track conditions and weather. You really need it to be cool to set your goals.

Case in point: JJ and I both ran 2:03 on utterly terrible half assed driving session 1 yesterday (video up shortly as proof) and then dropped consistency and grip no more than AN HOUR later. Most people showed a +1-2 second increase after one hour of the sun coming up. Ridiculous.

We were both a little salty our run group got cut short in the morning and we couldn't capitalize on cold weather but we are both nailing a 2:01 once we have fresh tires and get out there. But I'll bet it rains next time we go out

Like most of us on the right coast, I'm only vaguely familiar with this track. How important is HP?

Is the implication that a fr-s and s2000 with comparable mods are roughly equal despite the s2000's hp advantage?

BW is not a power track. Aero makes a bigger difference there than HP.

Yes the FRS is roughly as fast as an S2000 at similar mod levels despite the HP deficit, I suspect mostly due to superior aero.

Interesting that Rob was running 255 square. I thought the FRS guys tended to run a narrower tire.
