If you're replacing the wheel bearings and you have OEM studs, I'd swap them out for ARP wheel studs

Concur. Cheap and easy to do when hubs are separated from the bearing and knuckle.

Answered my own question. $127 per side - or $254 total. The alternative is buy two rebuild kits for $30 or $60 total. that's a difference of $194, or the fees for one day at the track...

How much is one day of your time worth, esp if you have a swear jar at home

Let me know how it goes, I am thinking of tackling the same task this winter, both front and rears!!

One question, are the rebuilds that you buy at auto zone or other parts stores (core trade etc.), just OEM that they rebuild? If this is the case are they as good as me rebuilding them myself? My fear would be if they were OEM calipers they don't use OEM hardware/seals

I followed that guide and got stuck at some point - might have been the circlip removal. You can buy rebuilt calipers you get a core fee back - can't remember exactly what that cost was.

Where can i buy the rebuilt calipers and send in my cores? The prices I pulled up were from Majestic Honda - brand new.

And yes, at this point in my life, my time is quite valuable and $194 doesn't seem like such a huge fee to pay. If it's even less than that, with a core trade in, I'm all for that.

There are some things you do yourself that are totally worth it, there are other things where "outsourcing" it is well worth your time and money.

Answered my own question again... I should probably look it up before I ask...

http://www.partsgeek.com/mmparts/bra...nda/s2000.html

This is quite the deal at $70 a side. that then makes a set rear calipers $80 - totally worth it.

Any clue on the workmanship? Also, this place doesn't take cores back - that one I couldn't find. I bet it would be cheaper if I could find a place that takes a core deposit.

I have rebuilt all 4 of mine once and got no real satisfaction from it, just relief that it was done. I am about to order my second set of rebuilts for next season so as to spend my time on other projects. I did get mine from Majestic last time as I wanted the oem Nissin ones, if you go Partsgeek post up your impressions of the type you receive.
