Default Ohlins Shocks

Just wondering if anyone has tried them. Or if anyone has some opinions on them?

Never used their stuff in a car, but they make high quality dampers that I've used in the motorycle world. Usually pretty pricey, but it's good stuff. I didn't realize they made stuff for our cars.

There's a few distributors that carry them, though I don't know of any autocross or open track S2000s so equipped...

For the price of the Ohlins you listed, you could get a set of really nice, proven, DA Penskes. And you'd be awfully close in price to the Koni 28's, which are positioned to compete against the much more sophisiticated Ohlins TT44. These are shocks designed and developed in Formula 1, replete with the ultra-high precision/street harshness/sensitivity/ridiculous costs associated with a proper racing shock.

At that level of expenditure finding a shock tuner who knows how to customize things to your application is just as important as the shock itself.

Just my 2 cents ... with about 249,998 more I could get a single TT44!

I used them for the first time at Buttonwillow this past weekend. They worked well. Build quality is excellent. With recommended setup except for slightly stiffer damper settings, 225/245 Michelin Cups and stock roll bars the overall balance is pretty good. Good power to the ground in low speed corners with no inside wheel spin, but sometimes a lift needed to get a bit more rotation. High speed full throttle exits were very slightly understeering. Less body roll than stock but still a little too much in my opinion. Catching a lost rear was easier than stock but still somewhat of an challenge. No damper fade noticed. I may try a bit more spring next time.

save your money, take the off-the-shelf Koni SA and get them revalved or also converted to DA.

Should be able to get pretty d*mn close to the 28 series performance for less dough.

Comptech is now carrying the Ohlins, and I (Import Dev.) carry them as well. They ain't cheap - that's for sure. So I wouldn't want to sell these to anyone who just wants the most expensive shock out there.
