I take my car to the track two or three times per year. I have been wondering about beginning to use synthetic oil for my engine and also wondering if others use special oil for their transmission and/or differential. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

 

switching from mineral oil to synthetic even if you only drive your car on the street let alone a few track events is a good move. Synthetic oils have better additives and last through longer drain intervals and are more resistant to viscosity sheering at higher temps. That was put very simply but pretty much to the point. It can get a lot more technical.
