Default oil filter question

Anyone run high performance racing filters? http://www.cmfilters.com/spin-on.cfm
I am looking at these. they filter to 8 microns and your oil is always filtered. The amsoil filters do 15 microns, most other filters do 40-60 microns. (the pureone is 30 micron). Also, it has no bypass valve so your oil is ALWAYs filtered. I didn't know that when you running your car really hard, if the oil pressure is over 40psi, the oil filter bypasses itselft and lets the oil go unfiltered! Is this true?

Anyway, they are pretty expensive. You can reuse the outer case. You just have to change out the filter element.

I use the remote version of this oil filter...

http://www.cmfilters.com/remote.cfm#

It works great and has a very high flow rate. I use the larger of the 2 versions and highly recommend it.
The oil in my engine is still remarkably clean especially when you consider that it has seen 10 track days without a change. 7 days during OTC, 2 days at sears point and a day at Laguna Seca. I'm going to change the oil and filter shortly but mostly just for grins as it appears that i could go a while longer before a change.

Dave,
In addition to better filtering, let's also mention the fire hazard reduction with using a remote filter.

Can you be more specific with the parts you purchased, though? I'm assuming that you've gone with the canister type setup, but what parts/part numbers/lines/fittings are needed to complete the conversion? The website doesn't exactly spell out all that is needed.

Thanks,
D

The above list is actually a subset of the system I have installed in my car. I also have an Accusump, oilcooler and oil thermostat installed into the system.

If you look at their web site (http://www.cmfilters.com/remote.cfm#) all the prices for the parts are listed.
