Default Oil pressure when hot (275*)

I've got a 75,000 mile, unopened F20 with a bung in the oil pan for measuring oil temp. After a 20 minute session in moderate 60* F weather, oil pressure is at about 10-12psi when at idle. Currently running Rotella T6 5w-40. Car is naturally aspirated currently, but adding a Ptuning kit shortly with oil cooler. Would you guys be concerned with that oil pressure? I have seen it as low at 8psi when the oil got to 285*F.
Considering switching to Amsoil 15w-50 Dominator, or 5W-50 non racing.

285 is hot asf! I would be concerned with anything over 250 personally...I am turbocharged. I run a 19 row oil cooler behind the IC and I dont have cooling problems.

I cant tell you what is too low a oil pressure as it correlates to the wear on your rod and main bearings, but my pressure at 195 degrees is 16-18psi at idle. You will lose a bit of pressure when adding a large oil cooler

285 is nuts. Something is wrong.

I have no oil cooler but a large radiator (which helps with the factory water/oil cooler) and never see over 250 on track. Keep in mind this is in SoCal so temps are much warmer than Seattle.

I run amsoil 10w40 signature, and get my oil analyzed regularly, with no bad info coming back from the analysis.

Did you verify the temp gauge to be working properly? Those are extremely high temps.

I would be concerned with those pressures. 10-12 at idle is low and I'd be concerned what your pressure is at WOT/etc. Oil temps seem to run a little hotter on F20's vs F22's because of the extra 1k rpm of revs. Honestly I'd be less concerned with those oil temps (285 is a little high though) as long as you're using a quality oil, and a little more concerned with the pressure. I'm not sure why your pressures are so low.. Any mods that might cause it? Maybe your bearings are a little worn which is causing a drop in pressure..?

Those are normal pressures for idle coming off track. both the motors in my car were 8-12 coming off track and know another S with the same gauge as me that does the same psi. he has an oil cooler, I don't. Like others have said though, hot PSI on track is a bigger indicator. should be 60ish in vtec if i remember right.

285 is officially cooking your oil territory. while on back roads in august in the afternoon in texas the highest i saw was 265-267 with stock everything. this is with air temps in the 103-4F. if you get an oil cooler, i'd recommend a thermostat one.

also 15w-50 sounds pretty heavy. but turbocharging may necessitate that.

Yeah, oil pressure is read from a T in the factory location. Both measured via AEM gauges and the Infinity EMS. Oil pressure at higher RPM is good. 65 or so while in VTEC. If you look at the video in 1080p you can see all my gauges. I was just concerned with the idle pressure. If you drive the car hard enough you'll be surprised what oil temps you reach, even with a mostly stock engine. I'm adding the Ptuning kit soon along with an oil cooler, but don't to add it now and have to redo it. So I'm currently changing the oil every track day so be safe.

Oil pressure it also at 80psi or so once warm and cruising at freeway speeds.
