Default Open Trailer Size

It is time to start hauling the S to the track. I am looking for an open trailer. Wanted to see what you guys recommend for size.

Will a 6.5 x 12 or 14 work.

TIA

I think 6.5 would be tight. The car is 5.75 wide and 13.5 long Stock.

The 5.75 width is the widest part of the body, I believe the wheel to wheel measurement would be smaller.

Wheel base is little over 7 feet.

I would guess I might have to go with 14 feet. I am looking at carson trailers so the next size up is 8.5 feet wide.

I should measure the width and see how wide the track is, as the 5.75 is based on the body.

6.5' won't work. car sometime slip a little on a wet trailer.
12' will work if you are towing it with a small truck, but 14' would be ideal.

shop around. not every Carson dealer charges the same for same model.

if you want it cheap in LA,
http://www.trailernationusa.com/

this is what few of us have. ~$1,800 out the door including tax/reg for bare minimum model.

it is low quality, but works.
you probably want a few options, like drop fender (so you can open the door), and few tie down points. buy spare tire/wheel separately at another dealer, usually ~$40 for a used.

there are a ton of options, but other than drop fender, I would say wait till you've used it a few times, you will then know what you want. there are a TON of options, some might not till your liking.

Carson is not bad. the one in Norco had one on special not long ago for ~$1,800 + tax/reg. but it is a little better in quality.

I pull with a 6.5'x12' steel trailer (wood deck) with a 2' dove. Fits nicely into my garage and my Pilot is able to tow it without issues. I even avg 13mpg when towing!

oh, Chrome wheels option is like $300
I wouldn't recommend wood deck version. unless you want to use trailer to haul other stuffs. it weighs more.
