Custom built open steel trailer should get you what you want. I have about 1500 into mine.

You shouldn't have problems with most open trailers with removable fenders. The U-haul ones have taller tires so they tend to interfere even with the fenders off.

I have an 16' open trailer without removable fenders and can open the door just fine. It might be a 2008 Trailex trailer- can't remember and it's dark outside.

Gives you plenty of practice crawling out the window haha... Not an easy task in the s2000.

is that $1500 for the whole thing or $1500 in custom work?
$1500 is about what I'm looking to spend on a trailer

Yeah, 1500 for the whole package. I wanted a trailer I could fit in my garage. I custom ordered a new 12' (+2' dove) 78" wide (deck measurements) steel trailer with the wood flooring and 1 axle with brakes. No issues in 2 seasons and 8k miles, but I did have to redo the wiring and have the tires balanced. An open deck steel trailer shouldn't be difficult to find if you shop around for builders/dealers that sell the off brand stuff. Just take someone who knows a bit about trailers to make sure its worth it. Keep an eye on the classifieds as well.

Our S2000 fits on my 14' featherlite without even taking off the fender. I need to remove the fender for the ST civic. Car is lowered too, 23" hub to fender front, 23.25" hub to fender rear.

Picked up the trailer for $3500 on craigslist, and it fits the S perfectly.

Pics with the civic on it:

It fit my E36 also. I like how it fits the S best, as the tow hook locations work perfectly with the tie down locations on the trailer.

Trailer is low and short enough to fit in my garage too.

On my trailer this is no problem, even with a lowered car. The trailer is a custom-built aluminum trailer.

I have used trailers where this was no problem with a non-lowered car, but with a lowered car it was an issue.

So the answer to the question is "yes, there are trailers which allow you to open the door." But not all of them, and not for every car.
