Default OTC '04 - Roll call?

I'll be posting my write-up in the next day or two.

I'd love to see us S2K's take the 2004 event by storm.

Who's interested? We possibly can work on group sponsors if we have enuf cars.

I'll volunteer to be a co-driver/pit crew.

For the more budget minded folks, I have posted the idea for a 3rd "stock" class

I think more classes is a step in the wrong direction for an event with this number of cars. My thoughts on classing for next year:
Limit classes to
Touring 1-4
Unlimited 1-4
OTCX for cars not eligible for the above.

Touring class must run on treadwear 140 tires and have a full interior. Otherwise I'm going to spend the next 11 months trying to convince Krazik to run his car in T3. Other mods short of FI (wheels, suspension, etc.) are too hard to police across all the different vehicle types to put limitations on.

Somehow I think they may develop rules against aero mods but I'm not in favor of that...

Unlimited cars must have a VIN number and have been eligible to be driven on US streets at some point in their life. I know a guy who can get an F1 car registered for the street- in New Zealand...

But the interior doesn't "cost" to remove. Maybe a minimum weight below published stock numbers?

But you're right I don't know how to police mods against such a wide array of cars. The 3rd class was assuming we grow next year and have the cars to justify it. I don't want to see another OTCX w/ 1 car running in it

I'd like to see some limitation of expensive suspensions, no $30k motors, etc. but I have no idea how to actually enforce something like that.

*note: this would be for the "buget" class. Unlimited is just that. Unlimited, anything should go.

I'll give you a definite maybe. Turns out I might be moving to SoCal instead of NV. I'm going to be in San Diego next week to get the details. OTC looks like hella fun

I got one:

How about making Touring class be eligible to be trailered?

What kind of sense is it to drive your car a million miles to compete? It's more expensive not to tow your car than it is to tow it.

How about a S2Ki/Speedventures car transporter?

How about drivers switching cars after each event... now where did I hear that before?
