Get yourself a fake ID, and an S2000, and go racing. I swear my S2000 is 2x the learning experience my Shifter Kart is. Actually maybe someone can explain this but, after I do a series of track days or I drive my Shifter a couple weekends in a row My Autox times tend to fall off. It's not just by a little bit either it's quite a bit, Like in reguards to other competetors i'm 1 1/2 - 2 seconds off my normal pace the next autox. This would certainly explain why most of us local autoxers make fun of Road Racers when they come autoxing cause they are always sooo slow.

Or get your self into a kart. I'm not sure what the age is to start competing in a rotax but thats probably the cheapest route to being competetive in karting. With shifter or Yahammah's you gotta have 'Trick" motors.

If you have the talent gift, it will be apparent very quickly. Jim Clark, Stirling Moss, and Jackie Stewart had it at a young age. Paul Newman showed it late. And the great Rocky Marciano didn't start boxing until he was 23. So, go rent a kart, take a little instruction, and see what you've got.
