Anyone ever have a rocker break?

Rocker on #1 intake let go between 6 and 7 at Thunderhill today and jammed the valve open. Pretty much destroyed everything. The piston looks like it went through he- double hockey sticks.... the the valves were 90 degrees to horizontal. Sent off enough debris to score all four cylinders.


Anybody know where to pick up a good 2.2L?

I thought the factory sold the shortblocks for $2200, but when I called it was $3700ish?

There is an 800 price differance between the AP1 and AP2 short blocks.

yeah who ever quoted 3700 is quoting you list price.

sucks about the motor. never heard of a rocker failure.

 

Doesn't matter, I already told him where to get an entire long block for less than that.

 

CThree's guy is out of motors. The one on ebay I missed by $50. HAP in Rancho is out of all 2.0 and 2.2 motors as well...

 

I've got some other names who have them but they want ~$4500

 

What brand of retainers were you running?
