james did you remove the oem cross bar at the front of the dash and weld in a piece?

Looks like he did get rid of and weld in a bar across the dash to his cage. Looks good!

SCCA rules require you have the cage tied together at the front in the dash area. The OEM crossbar just bolts in place and is heavy. No reason to keep it.

I have not removed the bar yet cause I have not figured out or had the drive to redo the steering column mount.
but yes it is best to get it out.
its heavy and is not needed when you install a proper cage.

also that thing is a bitch to get out....better off cutting it in half then removing bolts.
