Default Preparing an AP1 for Track days

Hi I have a 99 AP1 with 67k miles. I was hoping to bring the car to the occassional track day. but looking through the forum there appear to be the odd job that needs to be done to the car to increase longivity to the engine.. I thought I would start a thread of the 2 items that I found and if any one else could add to the list along with a link to put the item right would be great.

1. Replacing Oil Jet bolts: Link

2. Inspecting for cracked valve retainers : Link

The first I would say is a must, second is a good idea if it's ever been over revved

Another small upgrade would be a catch can for the oil vent.

Baffle in the oil pan of you plan on running r-comp tires.

Good alignment and you're all set!

Replace the brake fluid with a brake fluid that has a higher boiling point! Also from what I've heard, it might not be a bad idea to have a couple brake discs on hand in case one of the oem ones cracks.

EDIT: Stainless brake lines will also help with braking and aren't too expensive.

+1 grab some ATE Super Blue brake fluid, obviously you can put this in as clutch fluid as well

i have the brakes sorted.. new pads, discs and fluid all round..

what i want to define in this thread is what jobs these cars specifically need... as in Oil jet bolts, retainers, and other stuff im missing..

I have changed the gearbox and diff fluid , but wondering if there is anything specific that needs done to other components of the car?

also i hear of early AP1's having siezed suspesion bolts.. is there a guide to putting that right?

Check your front A Arm attachment points. After some track time they have been known to pull away from the spot welds. There is a thread about welding it better somewhere in the forum. probably in Robs build thread above too.

Check out this thread where Billman lists all of the high cost repairs. I'm going to get busy on all of these once it warms up a bit. https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/921...price-repairs/

Probably not a bad idea to just replace your brake lines (doesnt matter if OEM or stainless).
