Default Private Day At Thunderhill

A group I'm a member of is having a private track day at Thunderhill on Friday 7/28/06.

The event usually has 20-30 cars total and runs without run groups. Just run and stop when you want. Tho I always point out they actually have 2 run groups. Before Lunch and After Lunch .

The event is invite only but if any of the Honda Cup racers or SV red group guys want to make the trip you'll get 2 days of running time in 1 day . And for the honda cup guys we race at thunderhill the weekend following (8/4 - not that immediate weekend). But you can leave your car at the track for the week and just fly home from sacremento.

Anyway if anyone else is interested in coming pm me or post here and I'll put you in contact w/ Mark.

doh I guess thats an important part.

$295. Not cheap but its all non-profit and you get 7hrs of track time.

For open track? I'd say that is pretty cheap.

How many turn workers do they run? I was impressed with how many really blind sections of track there are at Thunderhill.

Not sure on the #, but you can see most of the track from a couple spots. They have enuf, but every station is not manned.

Sounds like what CFRA had when I was there.

At PR we often run HPDEs with no turn workers at all, except for somebody with overall control of the track. There are some blind spots, but mostly they are in benign locations. Still, I like having turn workers.
