Default Progressive cover on-track incident in VA?

Does anyone have experience with Progressive actually paying or actually denying a claim for an on-track incident (any vehicle)? If so please let me know, PM me if you prefer. Please also specify what state you are in - thanks very much.

Before you ask - my car is fine and I do not have Progressive.

From my limited understanding I would say no. Some places will cover you as long as you were not at a timed event, but again thats just what I have heard.

If you cant afford to wreck it IMO don't track it

Bah! If you can't afford it to wreck it, don't drive like an asshat on the track and keep your car is decent mechanical condition.

It's all about the policy. My policy specifically states that I'm covered as long as it's a non-timed, non-competitive event. So, for an HPDE, I'd be covered for an incident. Of course, as soon as I filed the claim, they'd jack my rates up 500%... but that's another story.

So... I'd say read the policy. I suspect there will be an explicit section that talks about these kind of events.

By the way... do you work for Progressive? Are you spying on someone on these forums and trying to find ammunition to deny their claim?

True but its the other drives I worry about. I was almost rear ended by a WRX driver that had some how cooked his brakes two laps into our lapping day. But still good advice

you think thats more likely than driving to work?

thats a pretty flimsy excuse, sorta like the asshats who drive like maniacs on mtn roads but won't go to the track because they're afraid of crashing. (Hi asura )

1) Yes, on a per mile basis.

2) And if it did happen while driving to work, I would be covered by insurance.

3) What's really annoying is that those idiots doing the touge crap are probably going to get covered by their insurance when they crash into something, but I'm no longer covered while driving on the track.

What a ridiculous irony this represents. Negligently endangering others in public roads - covered!

Alejandro, maybe you could start a movement to get the insurance companies to give us a DISCOUNT on our premiums for taking our cars to the track . Right now they are encouraging some people to drive irresponsibly on the street instead of responsibly on the track.
