If you have fewer than 10 track days of any kind (in any car), you can self-declare as a Novice; otherwise you're in Comp. With 150 points, you'd be in either Novice-MOD or Comp-MOD.
since i'm coming back in mid-october and driving the s2k for the first time at the tracks which should be under the 2005 rule, can i be in the nov-comp for the remainder of the year?

Giff, you've been racing/tracking all over Asia, so you are definitely not novice. You're probably more experienced on the track than all of us.
Next week i'll be at zhu hai and that will be my first track day in the longest time. But I will be trying motorcycles as i never tracked 2 wheels before. I got pretty pumped after watching the motogp in motegi this weekend. Those guys were ridiculously good and fast, and some of them are much younger then me and I just turned 26. They seem to be able to get into a rhythm really easily. Once they get into that zone they some how can push beyond their limits and gain another 0.5 seconds or more(that's like at will, whenever they want to.) It's really amazing watching how these pros do such things. But I guess that's why it's a career for them, and a hobby for me. Hopefully I don't kill myself while getting hooked on the 2 wheel crack pipe. I might be able to squeeze one car track day before I come back but it will be on a different car.
I checked the rules, it seems I'm stuck in comp-mod anyways...
Does the weight increase of a rollbar offset modification point allowance? There may be some people unwilling to put a rollbar in their all stock car, and that might be competitively unfair for them. I know of one person who might sell the S2000 who has removed the rollbar and had to buy new plastic pieces to bring it back to stock. If the weight gain is fairly offset by the mods, then that should be ok.

ANY ROLLBAR PROVIDING INCREASE IN SAFETY OVER STOCK -15 pts
Improved safety: different depending upon rollbar maunufacturer, I think. Will also need harness, thus racing seat, and go-fast mods allowed? Running against 'stock' S2000s with only brake pad/brake fluid upgrades without go-fast mods?
Anyway, if the addition of a rollbar makes the S2000 less competitive but safer, I am for allowing certain mods for those with rollbars to compete against unaltered S2000s.

I guess Crushco's out too
