There was a thread here asking about alignment and suspension dynamics books, a quick search should look that thread up.
but any racing book should have a chapter about suspension, not sure what complexity level you are looking into.

I saw this thread a while back, and a member broke down some good rules of thumb (RedMX5 I think?)... I'd recommend looking for it.

Some things to get you started, but don't get too crazy with one thing, a gain in something means a loss in something else:

-Increasing static negative camber can yield more grip in corners, but you will lose straight line braking power
-Adding some front toe-out can aid w/turn-in, but you'll wear your tires out faster
-Adding caster up front will increase dynamic camber gain and give you a bit heavier steering (what I prefer), but I think you might need to put in more steering angle to turn the car the same amount that you would w/less caster
-Adding rear toe-in will help keep the rear end behaved, but the car will not be as loose as you might prefer

Again, these are basic starting points. I'm just beginning to learn about this stuff, so don't take it as credible information (someone please correct me if I'm making a mistake), this is just some stuff I'm trying to understand myself. I recommend you check the auto-x setup FAQ for more information and some good starting points.

A recent experience I had - I just dialed in the max amount of camber I could get up front (-1.2-ish range, weak), and leaving everything else stock, the front end bites down a lot better. It used to wash out in tight corners, but a lot of that was reduced. The car has more of a tendency to oversteer, and I looped it at an Auto-X today, but I feel that the added camber will help me be faster in the end. The front end also seemed to lock up easier, but I'm never too hard on the brakes so it's not a huge issue. Based on the lighter steering feel, I think I lost some caster to achieve the camber, but it's a sacrifice I can make. ...a question for the rest of you, if I try to regain my caster (haven't looked at the adjustment bolts, they might have some adjustment still), will I lose some of the negative camber?

Wow... that reply developed into something wordy. Sorry about that, just trying to avoid some homework assignments due tomorrow. Hope it helped at least.
