Default Question about getting cold air intake - echc

I am allowed to remove the headlight to get cold air to the intake, but that leaves a huge hole....i could drill through my headlight, but they still have bulbs in them.... not sure I want to electricute myself (and/or destroy a perfect headlight).

so I came up with this..... i used the same 2

I like the idea of going thru the headlight if you can find an extra or broken one from a wreck.

By sticking the tube into the air horn, you defeat the purpose of even having one (an airhorn). Might want to think of a different coupling method.

Scot, here's what I've done with my PRM:

To increase air inflow through the opening in the fender, I've drilled out the faux duct on the passenger side. Seems to work very well, but if you are already using the duct opening for real brake ducts I am not sure if there would be enough air flow unless you also cut out some of the plastic panel below.

I took that horn thing off, but then I didn't have anything to keep my orange tube in place...... the tube is too small to just go in and not big enough to fit over the outside and clamp down....

do you think with this set up i am helping or hindering performance?

I don't think you're helping it. Whether it's being hindered or not is another story. The horn on the PRM intake is designed that way to enhance airflow. By sticking the tubing in there you've completely negated that effect.

I would continue to use that orange tube to direct cooler air into the area of the intake. Just replace the horn on the PRM and stop the about at the point of the radiator. This should cause more cool air to be present near the intake horn but you wont compromise the style of airflow it's intended to receive.
