Default Question for those who lost ABS

I know that some of you with stock calipers have lost ABS on track for one reason or another, and locked up tires. Was it front or rear that locked first? (If you spun then that would indicate rear.)

It was my fronts that got toasted. Rears look fine to me.

This would be relative to the pad compounds you may be running, what you are doing while locking up the brakes, your suspension settings and the stagger you have in tire sizes. Theoretically on a stock car the fronts should lock first if travelling in a straight line if that helps you.

In theory, what would be expected to happen to braking characteristics if you have ABS and you increase rear braking relative to front, for example with BBK or stronger race pads in rear only? (Characteristics like stability of car when activated, braking distance etc.)

To eliminate uncertainty, I have ordered stock rear calipers to go with the stock front calipers .

Good call. The possibility of lockup and going backwards off track outweighs any proposed increase in braking efficiency.
