Default Race Tires

I am running Volk CE28Ns in the 7.5"/9" combination with Hoosier R3S04s in 225/45 and 275/40. I really love the tires, but since I can run slicks or any other tire I want, I am looking to explore other options.

Is there anything out there that will outperform the Hoosiers?

I have looked for slicks, but have yet to find them - any tips on where to find slicks in my sizes (or something close)?

Thanks in advance
-Pete

Not in 17". You'll need to go to 18's to run slicks and they'll be a fair bit faster than the hooisers.

225 in front? you find that pushes much? I'm trying to find a tire that makes a bigger than 245 front as I really could use more front rubber (245/275)

On dunlap slicks Dave and I ran 250/280 Dunlap Slicks (~265/~300 in US sizes)

The series that I run is primarily at one track. On that track I am doing good with the 225s - I get a little push in the slowest turn on the track, but that is easily corrected with the right foot - it is actually a perfect turn for throttle steering the car.

I guess I will have to wait until next year to get some new wheels and go to slicks.

Thanks for the info.
