Default Racetech Seats

Does anybody have any experience with Racetech seats? Specifically the RT4009 and the RT4000W. Considering the 4009 for driver seat and 4009W for passenger seat. They seem to have harness holes that are even taller than a Recaro SPG, which is nice, and the other dimensions seem like a similar fit, but with more thigh bolster in the RT4009. My research has told me they are nice seats, and even more comfortable than Recaros. Curious to hear anyones input!

Very nice seats and the most comfortable I've ever sat in. They are definitely pricey. I think regular 4009 is a little north of $1k and 4009W is around $1300. The wide won't fit easily. I'd think you'd be ok fitting the regular width.

I will seconds Steve's words, the 4009 series HR or not is the most comfortable seat I have ever sat in (6' 200lbs). We used them exclusively at the shop I used to work at. They will not just drop into an S2000 unfortunately. They will need the trans tunnel to be trimmed to fit properly.

Ah, so your saying even the regular 4009 will not fit in the S2000 without modification? Any idea about their tier down model, the RT1000? Thanks for your input.

The regular 4009 might but if so it's going to be a tight squeeze. No guarantees though and at $1000+ I can understand why a lot of people haven't tried.

I've seen a few people put the RT1000 in the car but I can guarantee that one will rub the door panel. Shoulder wings are wide on that guy. Not saying it isn't a nice seat either but I'm willing to bet it doesn't match the 4009 in comfort. The 4009W I sat in was like a LazyBoy recliner it was so padded and comfy.

regular 4009HR did not fit without notching the trans tunnel, very few actual motorsport seats will. I had to notch the seat/tunnel to fit my Sabelt gt-160

I can't speak for the fitment in an S2000 but I had a 4009 and 4009w (passenger) in my E36 M3 track car. These seats were top notch quality. Definitely on par with Recaros.

I am 5'9 / 32 waist #160 and the seat fit me really well. Shoulder straps were in perfect position and it was a snug fit around the hips and shoulders. The thigh bolsters are high all the way to the end of the seat, which makes them a little more difficult to get in and out of compared to a pole position.

Should also note that the 4009W is significantly wider base than the 4009.
