racing coilovers, developement and customization
since this specific forum is the home to the fastest s2k drivers in the world...
who logs telemetry data wtih motec or a similar data system?
who custom valves their dampers and which ones do they use, jrz, moton, kw, ohlins, dms??
who custom tunes suspensions and has the winningest s2k to back up the development claims?
i realize that i'm a noob but i'm finding the search function to only bring up very old threads... it seems as if no one has created topics about anything in the past two years (on anything i'm interested in learning)

so what's hte secret sauce? track time?
i ask becuase i search coilovers and come up with lots of heresay no facts or word of mouth. all i get is... the kws are great. they're proven. wtf???
i hear of moton this... jrz that... but no one actually running them.
i've seen the amuse ohlins on best motoring but there's no one running those either. in a forum where you have a whole section devoted to jdm tuning i'd expect someone to want the ohlins amuse bling...

The Amuse setup is done by Bilstein, not OHLINS. Imo, many units out there are very good. That includes some of the top JDM ones. And, there are a lot of people running motons and JRZ, you just have to know where to look
Why don't you ask this in THAT forum then, if you want JDM answers?
And yes, the secret sauce's biggest component is track time. Other things that help are: big ass ugly wing, huge tires, CCW or volk CE28N wheels (17x9, 17x10, 18x9, 18x10 staggered and unstaggered are all viable options), and a set of good-enough coilovers. For tire sizes up to 225/245 16s or 17s, the stock coilovers fit the "good-enough" category. For RA1s or Nitto NT-01s, the KWs are in the "good-enough" category, all the way up to 275/275. If you want to run Hoosiers, V710s or slicks in wide sizes, you probably have to start looking at JRZs, Penskes, Motons and Ohlins. Of the blindingly fast cars, there isn't a favorite. JRZs, Motons, Ohlins, Penskes and KW race dampers are all in use and all working well. Any of those shocks are going to provide sufficient damping and the only variable will be how good you are at tuning the car. We can't do that for you.

cuz i don't WANT jdm answers... i want to know who the **** builds these suspensions. who makes them best for which applications and i've only found morsals cuz you're all assholes.
the only piece of confirmed evidence i have is that elda makes autocross specific jrzs that happen to performa well in other arenas.
motons are just "great" i don't even know what to believe of that because the damper should be idealized to the spring combo and i don't know if that is indeed the case. people just say that the motons have a wide range of adjustment and don't need to be revalved for even the stiffest springs... that's fishy.

In case you just climbed out from under a rock, there are no professional race teams campaigning S2000s in the U.S. So all you have are us amateurs. Some of these guys are wicked fast and you could learn a lot from them, but instead you call them all assholes. You're a frigging genius.
If you just want to copy someone else's setup so you can benchrace with your other under-endowed friends, just go ahead and copy whatever rainbow-toting red-haired ricer you feel like. And do that in the JDM forum. That forum was created because those of us in this forum care more about DRIVING than POSING and we got tired of belligerent assholes like you.
Glad to know my attempt at answering your question was so politely received. I knew there was a reason I'm usually an ass to people like you.
