Default RacingBrake Front BBK review

I got a chance to test RacingBrake front BBK about a week ago at Summit Point with NASA Mid-Alt. the kit came with Hawk DTC60 pads. the brake torque increase was huge. i was braking very late and had confidence that the brakes were going to be there. the brakes were much easier to modulate and i could engage ABS every easy. ABS also functioned normally. there was no extra pedal travel with the BBK, pedal felt the same as stock. brake balance between front BBK and rear +1 BBK was very good for my non-staggered setup (NT01 255), no rear ABS engagement during hard trail braking. front brake temperature was also about 100 lower than normal with the same on track usage. pad and rotor wear was very minimal after three 15 minutes sessions.

the RB front BBK is about 3.2 lbs lighter than the oem front brake setup. the four piston calipers is 13.6mm out farther than the oem caliper. so i had to use a 10.6mm spacer for the FN01 wheels, and a 7.6mm spacer for the Buddy Club track wheels.

That RacingBrake front big brake kit looks freakin' sweet. Might have to give it a try when I get tired of running the RacingBrake Accord/NSX package you developed.

As far as the caliper width goes, how close in size is this to other BBK's? Do you know?

(really, I just want to know if it will clear the 6ULR's 17x9 +48 and 17x10 +52 )

Rob, you will probably be on the RB front BBK sooner than you think

the overall width of the bbk caliper is 125mm. as i stated above, the caliper is out farther than oem caliper by about 14mm. so if you have 10mm clearance with your current wheels and oem caliper, then you would need at least 4mm + a couple mm extra for wheel defection.

this previous test fit wit 949 wheels required a 5mm spacer to clear the RB front BBK

They should have no problem clearing the 17x10 +52 as they clear my Endless with tons of room to spare.
