Default RallyCross

In my quest to whore all things motorsport, I've played around RallyCrossing with a friend this Winter while we've waited for the snow to melt.

I'm not sure what I think just yet. It was fun, but pretty brutal on the vehicles.

Anyone with RallyCross experience here? Most of the threads are track and autocross here.

I have a decent bit of rallycross experience. Ran for 4 years with the local rallycross program and have a 2nd place trophy in class from the 2006 Rallycross National Challenge at Oakland Acres in Virginia. I always ran an AWD class.

I got out for the most part because it was so brutal on the vehicle, at least our local sites were pretty rough. I used a beater as well. I mainly got out of it so I could focus on National autocross events and because I got sick and tired of having piles of dirt fall off the car onto me when I had it on the lift and was working on it.

Below is a picture of my beater.

Sweet! Love it!

I was thinking of buying our ChumpCar from our team at the end of the season and RallyCrossing that...

I did it once. Halfway through my first run, the left front wheel fell off of my car and went rolling off into the distance.

Looks like a lot of fun. I've been reading a lot about it in Grassroots.

I’ve done it a couple times this last year. I’ve run a rental mustang, and rental neon, I just have to find a rental awd car now. My dad rents the car because I’m only 22 and the rental place expect these kinds of shenanigans me so I can’t get the insurance. Just be sure to take it to a car wash first if you’re planning on getting another car from them in the future.

I've also done it a few times, always in other cars since mine were always set up for autox.

Loads of fun and would never pass up, were they not litterally 2+ hours away for the most part from where I live... longer days than autox!

CKit... you're from the NE? I think I recognize some of those cars. (If it is, the Civic = Chang, and the Red 2.5RS is another buddy).

I always wanted to when I had my WRX a few years back, but never found a place around here to do it.
