Ran my first event in my S2000!
I ran the 5/1/10 event with Speedventures on Streets Of Willow CCW and had a great time. I met some cool S2000 owners and some others as well. It was my first event in my S2000, coming from a 2005 STi. My car is bone stock besides the pads, lines, fluid, and Hard Dog roll bar. I ended up with a best of 1:31.790 in my last session. I started my first session off taking it really easy. After a couple laps i realized the VSA was still on so I shut it off. My second session i really began to push it a lot harder as I was feeling much more confident. I had let out some tire pressure front and rear as well. My third session I ended up being around 35psi hot front and rear. For the last session I dropped the rears an additional pound. So I was around 35/34 i believe Not too sure how accurate my gauge was though. All in all the day was great. I learned a great deal about car control in a rear drive car, since I was coming from my previous car, an STi. I am very happy with my car in stock form, and cant wait for more seat time, and modifications to come! Maybe Buttonwillow May 28th. Thanks guys!
I also came from an STi. I enjoy driving my s2k on track much more than the STi. The s2k isn't nearly as powerful, which won't hide your mistakes. I think it has really helped me become a better driver.
I was speaking with another former subaru driver who compared it to using a scapal versus a hammer.

Thanks! I am trying to keep things very simple with my car....less is more kind of thing. So I am thinking of going to Koni yellows and possibly eibachs in the future, and of course tires will be fairly soon. Not sure if I want all the adjustability with coilovers haha. I'm not really planning for any engine mods right now. The driver mod is my main concern
I definitely think the power of my STi was hiding my mistakes. I learned a lot more about driving lines, braking, apexes and everything else yesterday than I did during the three events I did in my STi. I love my S2000 on the track!
I will look into the S2KC. It sounds fun!
