Hey guys just got back from buttonwillow raceway. At the end of my track day I had 4 bars showing in my fuel gauge. So I decide not buy gas at the raceway because its $6 a gallon. The moment I get to the freeway car shuts off!!

Ended up sitting on the side of the road for 30 min until a fellow s2ki member stops and asked me if my car was ok. I love this community we have here. He ended up hooking me up with a gallon of gas to get me to the next gas station.

I know the s2000 has a false gauge. This happened to me before, glad you found help.

 

Happened to me at SOW too. Going to fill up the gas when it reads half now at the track.

 

Dude! I saw you and was gonna stop then saw you squatting next to the fence.... I swear it looked like you were taking pictures of something. Sorry man, I should have stopped! I just thought you stopped to take pics or something. I've done it before but maybe I'm just weird like that

 

Yea, I've noticed it's pretty inaccurate. For the first bit, the meter barely drops, but once you hit half tank, it seems to guzzle gas on the meter. I've had it to 3 bars and it seemed okay. Luck you got help though, gotta love S2Ki.

 

ha-ha I think you saw me taking the first shot. Its alright man I know you would have stop if it looked like I was really in trouble. I would not have wanted to keep you up anyways. Buttonwillow to SD is a !@$!@#$ long drive. I would have just called AAA anyways. But Tom decide to stop and offer.

Did you break the 2:10s?

 

Live and learn, dude. Never go by the "bars" when you have been on track. Learn to go by the odometer.

Don't worry.. I have done that once. I ran out of gas just as I passed the gates at Willow Springs..

 

I ran outta gas twice....shame on me!

Get gas if your gage is less than half full at the end of yoru track day..better safe than getting stuck on the side of the freeway =)
