Default Rear Toe

Hi Everyone,

I just corner balanced and re-aligned my car on Friday, and went with less rear toe .27 total toe vs .41 before. The car (on the street) feels a LOT more lively.

2 years ago on S02's with .48 rear toe my car was killer under braking, last year with race rubber and .37 maybe a bit more lively, but I was carrying more speed into the corner.

In your experience is this too drastic a change?

I am looking to get a bit more speed on the straights and little better turn in.

I will be running a Big A$$ Wing this year too.

Any suggestions and comments?

Cheers,

George

I always ask my alignment guy for 1/8" total (whether he actually gets this right I don't know; no print outs). I have a wing and it feels good.

Hmm not sure how 1.8th translates to degrees.

I know this is a pretty open ended question, I just hope I didn't go with too little.

Now the guys at the shop that did the work, say they run .20 on the 911's they race and service. Those cars are a bit more nervous in the rear aren't they?

Ok I did some searching, it seems I am at the lower end of the toe settings for a road course car But more toe than the Autocross cars.

I am all for faster lap times, but not at the expense of losing the rear.

Also remember that the wing won't help in tight slow corners.

I'd try the car the way it is before making further changes.

george.

1/4" is a bit too much for a tracked s2k. I run 1/16th total, but I like the car a little more lively.

personally I wouldn't run more than an 1/8th total otherwise you're killing speed all the way down the straights.

my numbers are in inches.

inch x 2 = degrees

so .27 total toe in in degrees would be good.

I edited my posts when I saw his numbers are in degs. See above.

-2.5 is too much camber? On ra1s? I personally doubt that. My -4 in the front migth be too much, but I plan to run 3.5 to 3 all around
