Recommended Brake Fluid
Hi,
I have some ATE brake fluid on order, but I need to change my pads and fluid before my next track day on the 23rd. If the ATE fluid does not come in time, can someone recommend some high-performance fluid I will be able to buy locally, which will also be appropriate for street driving?
Thanks.

You could go to your local Ford dealer and get some Ford Brake Fluid. The dry boiling point is nearly as high as ATE's and the wet boiling point is better. Many high performance drivers have used Ford brake fluid as an alternative to higher priced performance brake fluids for years. I think the last time I got some the Ford brake fluid was ~$5.00/pt

Here's a comparison chart:
Fluid DRY WET
Ford Heavy Duty DOT 3 550 290
ATE Super Blue Racing 536 392
ATE TYP 200 536 392
Motul Racing 600 585 421
Castrol SRF 590 518
Over 100 Deg in wet boiling point is not something I'll give up.

And also consider one of my favorites, Valvoline SynPower with 502 dry and 343 wet boiling points. It's readily available at many automotive parts supply stores.
