The number of stock NSX parts still attached to that car could probably be counted on one hand... which you did above.
-RF (4)
-LR (4)
-RR (4)
-Windshield
-Doors (2)
-front subframe
-rear subframe
-rear cross-member
-roof
-shock towers
-floor
-dash support structure (we can easily bolt in the stock dash)
... and the list goes on and on. Pretty amazing the stock components hold up to these speeds.
Like I said, we can take off every component from the FX750 racecar and put it on a stock NSX in a day and run the same times. Not sure too many other teams can do that. I credit this huge accomplishment to the hard work everyone at FXMD has done, and the new car should be quite a bit faster

Stock transmission (with WPC treated and deburred gears, and OSG LSD)
-every synchro (1-5), gear, hub slider, shift fork, bearings, etc... is stock. The entire transmission is stock except for the OSG LSD. I spent 20 hours deburring the gears myself to increase the strength of them and WPC treated them to increase the strength and reduce heat/friction (there's an article on MotoIQ.com about this too). They are still factory pieces. Up until this weekend we had BONE STOCK transmissions down to the LSD itself, absolutely no difference then out of a factory car.

If you think I'm taking anything away from what FX Motorsports Development has done... I'm not. There's no arguing how incredibly quick that car is and how well sorted out it is. I was there when they started sorting out the NSX at SMMP where those guys were turning two second slower times than my old CRX. Now, they are damn near 20 seconds faster than what I turned. Amazing to see the progress and I hope to see it do more damage in the unlimited class... since I love seeing Vegas teams/drivers outdrive the rest of the country

When did we start to sort out the car at SMMP/what year? Was that the silver car?

that freakin guy...hahaha I thought I had them in the 2nd session, since it looked like they ran all of one lap and I was running quicker my 2nd session than they were their 1st. But, they improved two seconds... that's even after stuffing their car into the desert hills!! well deserved!
and the S2000 who took 2nd in SS-RWD... I don't even think he went out his 2nd session... I was trying to chase his 1st session time, but couldn't do it. was still slower by 2 tenths. I just need to drive faster.
That NSX is hardly a Honda anymore. Sure it still has a Honda engine, headlamps, front windscreen and frame... but that's about it. I don't know how much Mitsu is left on the AMS car. Regardless of semantics, that 2:13 was blistering quick, especially since the track record by a Radical SR8 was around 2:12.
Congrats to Factor X (and the rest of the teams that posted laps in the teens) for building a car that can compete with Radicals.

yes the fuel starvation was the the FIRST problem of the day for him
i couldn't make it to the event, but i hope to make it to the next one with the s2k. paul and i do alot of private events together with the rest of the AE team....he's been trying to get me to do some time attacks in the s2k in stock class. he's a good friend of mine, but my track nemesis as well

Was nice meeting a few of you west coasters out there! BTW, the AMS evo was only running on 3 cylinders after a cylinder went bad when a belt that runs the water pump went to pieces.
It has more in it for sure.
Great job to to AFI. the engine on that thing is a work of art as well.

and congrats to AFI. when I saw them running the week before at the PCA event, they were doing something like 2:36s-2:37s, which is what some guys run with stock S2000s on R-compounds and aero... good to see that they got everything worked out and dipped into the low low 2:30s.
