Default The ring

Hey all just got done with a day at the ring..
no pics...camera battery died..

in a word
Madness...cars, bikes, vans, g-wagens, a tour bus and a partridge in a pear tree all going around the track at once..

unbelievable. may people have already posted about how fantastic the ring is. For all you southern california types imagine latigo x2 add stunt and a few others ..make it one way and have at it.

I rented a bmw from a great company over there that rents "race prepped" cars
(check out ben lovejoys site go to the car hire section its the one at the very bottom) well set up cars good suspension, and the owner took me out for my first lap. He was telling me where to turn in etc... by turn 5 or 6 i was laughing too hard to pay attention..So much fun.. met a bunch of good guys over there
a dewd named "bibs" with a paxton blown s2000 having a ball...Drove from england to go to it...

it takes a number of laps to even know what turn is comming up next... Anyone who can....get yer ass over there and do it..

I saw a few family's , mom, pop, kids...driving the station wagons around the track...(how cool is that wife???)

p.s. dont crash crashing is bad....

I rented from

http://www.rent-racecar.de/

I cant not reccomend this company enough.
I drove a 318ti with bilstien coils, hankooks, full cage, sparco seats etc.... It was set up very well very netural. the first 250k is included i think its 1.20 or 1.50 after that. I wound up doing 13ish laps and put 290k on it.
I stayed at the ringhaus. I was not nearly as impressed with them. I found it very difficult to contact them. In fact I never actually talked to them until I arrived. They have 2 hotels the main one is very close to the entrance of the ring. The second one (the one I stayed at) is walking distance from the first hotel. The cars are probably fine but the customer service was lacking in comparison to rent a racer.

the guy who owns rent a racer was very gracious. Customer service was top notch.
he has more cars than what is on his site as well (i think they are duplicates of the same models) the 318 was the next gen than what is on his site.

sounds like a blast though I bet the 7 will be a good time..

yeah I'm probably gonna rent a half day in the m3. Ringhaus give 600km/day for less $ tho. Cars reserved. They're slow to reply to email but otherwise seem fine.

Hey Ry,

Let me know when you'll be at the Ring in July. We've exchanged a few forum posts over the years and would be nice to finally see the face behind the text

Cheers from Cologne, just 40 mins drive to the Ring.

Amsterdam 6/29 for my 30th bday,
Then to berlin for ~5 days and
At the ring July 6-8.

Should be easy to find the 2 rentals. Also there will be a ~10 strong contingent of UK s2ks there.

I'm so ready to be driving there. I LOVE that track.

Oh yeah, I'm so jealous that you live that close to the ring. I'd be there every weekend if I did.
