I will pictures up soon, as L-Con is completing mine shortly........been at the shop now for about 2 months.
I think I saw your car there a couple weeks ago. Suzuka blue getting a full cage. Are you competing in a w2w series? Has it been weighed? Must be nice and light

Sorry I just saw this post. It is done and in my garage. I had it designed with the thought of w2w in mind. I was going that route until the 2nd baby game along......lol. Been a bit busy and probably rusty now. I would like to do w2w at some point.

Louie did a nice job. I will be taking it in to complete things off as he will be putting in dimple plates along the windshied and a dash bar as well......then it will be complete!

You'll have to go custom to get a roll bar that's optimized for the hard top with the soft top removed. Plus you'd want to go custom if you plan to use the roll bar as a base for a full cage. Here's a pic of my cage that is optimized for no soft top and fits under the hard top.

There was a lot of discussion about Skip's cage design when it was built and posted here. I never noticed the missing dash bar.

Skips bar reused the OEM dash bar (which does look VERY beefy). Perhaps the one limitation is that Skips cage bolted onto the OEM dash bar at the OEM mounting point. Welding the two together might have been the preferred method but it was nicely fabricated.

Pete, take a look at my foot box. I don't see how you could tie into the stock dash bar without compromising the side impact strength of the foot box.

From memory, I think it looks pretty much like your setup except the cage and footbox are bolted to the dash bar instead of welded to the dashbar. The OEM dashbar looks pretty strong (it is several inches in diameter and appears to have very thick walls.

Not saying it is a plus or minus, my car has a welded dashbar (similar to your car) but it *looked* pretty beefy.

My NASCAR bars tie into the added dash bar and firewall brace. You couldn't do that if you used the factory dash bar. Skip's cage is the only one I've seen without an added dash bar. Was Skip's cage Bethania Garage's first S2000 cage?

How much of a pain is it to remove and put on the hard top? I'm still debating between a Hard Dog and a custom bar (I've gotten email quotes ranging from $800 to $2500). I like to occasionally go topless autox or cruise.

Also, anyone think the CR brace will be in the way of a custom or hard dog bar? Or should I just remove it anyway since the roll bar would give me the extra amount of chassis stiffening? I'm thinking of removing it for classing reasons too.
