Its still on the agenda!!! Ive been saving my pennies for a HT on my Berlina, which isnt exactly chassis-parts production material(trust me, you dont want your rollbar build on this chassis, Ive hit a few curbs at the track at around 80mph, rather hard). HT is on, soft top is out.
I finally got the soft top out of the Berlina in my project NFR S2000(straight as an arrow), so now I can begin rollbar production, shooting for sometime this week(maybe tomorrow?).
Plan on two bars. Economy/race for $600, street/interior for more$, not sure how much yet. If Im going to cut my stock interior to pieces, to get this thing built, Id like to be able to replace it. Plus, its going to take quite awhile to get everything right on the street bar, probably going through 4-5 different bars until Im happy. Hoping for pictures this week!!!!

Excellent. I've got vacation days left to burn before the end of the year, and installing a 'street/interior' rollbar is EXACTLY what I wanted for Christmas!!! Just let us know when they're ready for sale.

I know there has been huuuuge interest in this. Time is so short, and with paying customers(turbo parts) coming first, its been hard to find time. But, Im shipping out my prototype bar and I need something to replace it with so its time to start building some bars
And no, I dont want any $ until I know I CAN accurately reproduce these things. Thats all I need, get 10 orders deep and find out that they are all different enough to either not fit right, or look like ass. Soon...soon...

Two quick points. Cut your expectations for the number of bars you can sell in half (or more) and then ask if it's still worth your time. I'm pretty certain that Wael stopped making bars because the volumes weren't sufficient. I'm not trying to discourage you from fabricating a bar, but you should be aware that there's more interest than commitment on this one (this isn't intended to say anything about the interest expressed here by Dojo and others, simply that folks understandably have second thoughts about carving up their interiors to install a rollbar). Second, those of you who elect to install a bar, PLEASE be sure to install FIA padding over the bar. If you don't, you should be wearing a helmet every time you drive the car. Exposed metal within 10" of your headrest can be lethal in the event of even a low-speed accident. Seats deform hugely under even modest loads.
