Default Rollbar and bucket seat without harnesses

So I might have hit a snag in my plan to get on track. I don't even know why I didn't think of it before.

I just installed a hard dog rollbar this past weekend and it has the welded lowered harness bar as it was most optimal for my low seating position. I also have a Recaro Pole Position for the driver seat and the OEM seat for passenger. I know I'm ok to get on track with the passenger seat being OEM seat and belt but am I going to run into trouble trying to run my bucket with the factory 3-point belt? I didn't really want to get harnesses just yet and it also make a problem having the bulkhead in place anyways.

This car is a daily which is why I still want to use the factory belts and also why the passenger seat hasn't been changed out. To run harnesses I have to take the bulkhead out because it is in the way and that's fine for the driver side but then I run into a problem with belts for the passenger. I'm pretty sure you can't or really aren't supposed to use harnesses with the factory seat so that leaves that option out.

Is my only option to buy another bucket and two sets of harnesses? I don't really see any other way around it unless my current setup is ok. I don't care if it's frowned upon as long as it still gets me on track. Ideally the car will eventually not be daily and it'll get a second proper bucket and harnesses but it's money I wasn't ready to spend right now. Will tracks even pay that much attention to it?

One other detail I originally left out is I'm in Virginia and the closest track to me is VIR at 2hrs and Summit at about 3.5hrs. I don't know if the setup requirement is more track specific or specific to the organization I'll be running with. I'm new to the track so I'll only be doing HPDE events for the time being.

Here is what I did.
Cut the Bulkhead in half.

I can switch to harness and factory in 10min.

As for tracking with 3 point and bucket..I dont see why it wouldnt be OK.
People here (SoCal) do it.

^It's funny that you were the first to reply because I was actually going to pm you at some point and ask for pics of what you did to the bulkhead. I had remembered reading that you cut it in half for this very same reason.

Only concern I have is that bulkhead probably isn't bolted down well enough without also having the factory rollhoop bolted in as well to use the oem belts. Right now I don't have the factory hoops in and don't plan on it either but I don't really want to pull them apart either to get the metal hoop out.

Also about the factory 3-point belt and bucket I'm not surprised that it's not a problem for you guys out west but everything is more strict over here on the east coast. There isn't really any event you can do with an s2000 that doesn't require a rollbar and I see they are still pretty friendly about letting you guys on track without a bar.

It also seems like you've got a lot more events in which you don't have to have an instructor which also means you don't have to worry about any kind of safety equipment for anyone but yourself. If that was the case then I'd very quickly just but one harness and run them and call it a day.

Yeah, its easier to get on track here.

But, you can still add the factory roll hoop like I did.
I wanted it to attach to the car also for the proper support. This thing doesnt move with the way I have it.

If you drive your car on the street a lot still, harness sucks to use all the time

And I do, mine happens to be a daily driver which is also one of the biggest reasons I don't want harnesses.

I also posted this same topic in the track thread within my regional section on the boards to see what some of the guys that track their car at the tracks I'd be at can/can't get away with and it looks like my setup will be just fine. I'd be optimal to have a set of harnesses and I might look into in the future but for right now I just want to keep things the way they are.

why not run oem 3-point with your bucket seat instead of the harness?

^That's exactly what I want to do. I'm just questioning whether it'd be allowed or not. Part of the other dilemma is the fact that I don't have two buckets just one for me which means my instructor will be sitting in a stock seat. I don't know if that would cause a problem either.

Getting on track seems to be a lot more of a pain here on the east coast than what you guys have out west. I wish there were lots of events I could run that didn't require an instructor but just let me push my car at my own pace that I felt comfortable with.
