I'll be out at AMP for the Solo2 Phoenix National Tour. Going to try and make it in April; haven't been there yet, need some OTC practice...

Thanks SV, for another well run event! I had a fun time.

I spun at Turn 9 in my first session out. I am so glad I stayed on the track during the spin and was able to motor away.

Thinking it was going to rain a lot I was planning to leave early and took the transponder off (I know, not that dedicated of a track dude, I guess). Later, there was a break in the 'bad' weather and I was able to stop watch time my son at a best of 1:53.49 on stock S02s. No record of this on paper, though!! In that session, Kyle walked past most of the field as did the GT3, which took them just about the whole session. Kyle was the last for the GT3 to pass, as it 'finally' caught up to him, but the Porsche spun around Turn 2-3 following Kyle. I couldn't see anything after they passed my vantage of the front straight. All I could hear was the tires screeching, and I didn't know if it was Kyle or the Porsche. I was glad it was the S2000 that kept the front pointing the right direction.

Fun event, despite the weather. A dozen or so no-shows according to Aaron, which meant light traffic for the rest of us. Richard and I both turned some lackluster 1:51s in the second red session while waiting for better conditions. Then the AMB timing crashed during the third red session, but according to my DL90 I did not improve. As I recall it was not *quite* as dry during that session as in the second. The rest of the day was wet, and for a while the track was ludicrously slippery -- literally like ice.

Looking forward to February, and hoping for sunshine...

I enjoyed practicing in the wet while most of you guys packed it in for the afternoon. I think it helped me improve my "traction sensing" skill as I think it helped me save a few oversteer surprises without spinning the next day. On Saturday it got dry and although my Hotlap was not working, from my video I stopwatch timed a high 1:49 (was playing tag with an E36 M3 on Hoosiers and his Hotlap recorded a few 1:49's). Is a track typically slower after rain and then drying out compared to a typical lengthy dry conditions? I don't know how good 1:49 was for the conditions.

BTW, I stopped following you guys to dinner when it started pouring and I was still on bald RA1's. Waited out the rain while feasting in a Korean restaurant. The next morning, with the frost, I tippy-toed to the track (I think the tire trailer helped stabilize the rear end )

John, Richard: Nice times! I had fun and want to be smoother, and obviously faster around that track.

This reminds me, all may not be lost on those times. Rylan and Aaron didn't know it, but our decoder has ram built into it that can store something like 1,000 laps until the computer reconnects. Those times may be in the timing system despite the crash. I'll find out when I get to the laptop tonight / tomorrow morning. Let's hope!

I can't help but note that this never happens when I'm at the track
