I would be very surprised if they move it to BStock after winning nat. the last 2 years.

edit
unless they added a class above SS. Then SS becomes AS, AS becomes BS, BS gets added to CS?

There is a proposal out for 2010 where the S2k and all of the cars currently in AS would go to BS, there would be no changes to the cars it competes with currently.

what about the cars in BS now? they get moved to CS? If they just move the S2000 down to BS without the other cars currently in AS it would murder every car in BS. It already does quite well in AS.... i guess i dont get it lol

well what is being thrown around is bumping every car up a class, and making a stock class for cars faster than SS. like cars that go straight to ASP from the factory. this is all still just in the rumor phase. i dont think SCCA has any plans of this as of yet

It is merely a proposal at this point, but yes the current BS cars would get merged with the current CS in the proposal on the table. The current SS would move to AS, and the current AS would move to BS, leaving space for cars faster than SS that go straight to ASP currently.

That's the proposal I remember reading as well. The CS cars won't go anywhere, but since the new MX-5 and Solstice are running BS times anyway, there's no harm in bumping the current BS cars to CS. Then AS cars -> BS and SS cars -> AS, leaving room to to create a new SS class for the cars that are currently deemed too fast.

Regardless of what they call it, AS was the most popular class in 2008, so I don't think they want to mess with it. The S2000 is affordable, abundant, and competitive with the current mix of AS cars, and I don't think the SCCA would want to upset that.
